COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Advanced Materials curriculum spans four semesters over two years and integrates foundational coursework, specialized training, and extensive research. The program begins with a foundational semester where students from diverse academic backgrounds acquire essential knowledge in chemistry, physics, and materials science. Simultaneously, they gain initial hands-on research experience, preparing them for advanced scientific work.In the second semester, the focus shifts to core areas of materials science, including both bottom-up and top-down approaches to material design and fabrication, as well as key mathematical and computational methods. Students continue developing their theoretical understanding alongside practical research skills.The third semester offers opportunities for specialization, allowing students to delve deeper into specific areas of interest within advanced materials science. Through elective modules and project-based learning, students develop the ability to independently tackle complex scientific questions and refine their presentation and communication skills in both academic and industry contexts.The final semester is dedicated to the master’s thesis, which can be conducted within the university or in collaboration with an external research or industry partner. This thesis represents a culmination of the student’s training, demonstrating their ability to apply interdisciplinary knowledge and research expertise to address contemporary challenges in advanced materials science.
