COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) bachelor’s program is a structured and comprehensive three-year course that equips students with both theoretical foundations and practical skills in a rapidly evolving technological field. In the first year, students begin with 45 credit points (CP) of mandatory CHOICE modules, including General Electrical Engineering I and II, Classical Physics, Digital Systems and Computer Architecture, Programming in C and C++, and Foundations of Communications and Electronics. These modules provide a solid base in electronics, programming, and physics, essential for understanding more complex topics later in the program. The second year builds on this foundation with 45 CP of CORE modules that deepen the student’s knowledge of the discipline. These include Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Communications Basics, Electromagnetics, Electronics, Wireless Communication, Information Theory, and PCB Design and Measurement Automation. These modules are designed to enhance understanding of key principles, practical tools, and methods relevant to current industry standards and technological advancements. The program follows a sequential structure, so no minor is offered within the 180 CP required for the degree. In the third year, students gain real-world experience through a mandatory summer internship and have the opportunity to study abroad during the fifth semester. The final semester focuses on research through the completion of a bachelor thesis. To specialize further, students must take at least 10 CP from major-specific modules such as Wireless Communication II, Coding Theory, Digital Design, and Radio-Frequency (RF) Design. Additionally, up to 5 CP can be taken from related modules like Optimization, Nanotechnology, or Advanced Optics. This structure ensures that graduates are well-prepared to enter fields such as telecommunications, embedded systems, signal processing, or further academic research, making the program both academically rigorous and professionally relevant in today’s digital world.
