COURSE CURRICULUM

The 12-month master’s course is structured across three trimesters — winter, spring and summer — with each stage focusing on different aspects of professional and creative development in music for screen and media. Part-time students complete one module per trimester, allowing greater flexibility while maintaining the same academic and practical learning experience. The course begins with Practice Research and Analysis, where students explore critical thinking, research methods and analytical approaches relevant to music, media and sound production. In Sound Design, Composition and Key Technologies, students develop technical and creative skills using industry-standard tools and workflows for audio production and media composition. The Composition, Arrangement and Orchestration module focuses on writing and arranging music for different visual and interactive contexts, helping students refine their musical voice and storytelling abilities. Negotiated Professional and Technical Development allows students to tailor their learning according to personal career goals, strengthening both professional practice and technical expertise. The course concludes with a Major Project, where students create an extensive body of work that showcases their creative, technical and collaborative abilities. Throughout the program, students gain practical experience, industry-relevant skills and a portfolio that prepares them for careers in film, television, games and digital media industries.
