COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc program in IT Management is structured over four academic terms and is tailored to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in computer science, digital transformation, and data analytics, along with the option to specialise in a focused pathway. During Term 1, students begin with a foundational understanding through the modules Fundamentals of Computer Science and Digital Economy and Transformation. These courses introduce key principles in programming, data structures, and the influence of digital technologies on global economic systems. The term aims to establish a solid grounding that supports more specialised studies in later terms.In Term 2, students advance their technical expertise by engaging with Machine Learning and Visualisation for Data Analytics, which explores algorithmic thinking, data interpretation, and communication of complex information through visual tools. The Electronics, Mechanical and Mechatronic Systems module offers a cross-disciplinary approach to systems design and integration, helping students understand the interplay between hardware and software in real-world applications.Term 3 allows students to select one of three distinct pathways to align their learning with their career interests. The Sustainability Development pathway focuses on sustainable practices and innovations in IT; the Project Management pathway equips students with leadership skills, planning methodologies, and risk management techniques; and the IT Management and Administration pathway is tailored for those aiming to lead IT departments, manage infrastructure, and implement IT governance frameworks. This choice enables students to deepen their knowledge in a targeted area while preparing for sector-specific roles.In Term 4, students complete a dissertation on a topic of their choice, allowing them to apply their theoretical learning and research skills to investigate and solve a complex issue within their field of interest. This final stage of the program not only demonstrates independent learning but also serves as a portfolio piece for future professional opportunities.
