COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Health Psychology program is structured across four terms to provide students with in-depth theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and advanced research expertise. In Term 1, students study Health Psychology in the 21st Century, gaining insight into modern health-related psychological issues, alongside Advanced Applied Social and Health Psychology, which explores how social and psychological factors influence health behaviours and wellbeing. In Term 2, the focus shifts to research and practical applications through Advanced Research Methods and Approaches 1, where students learn essential research techniques and data analysis skills, as well as Clinical Psychology, Life Coaching and Technical Applications, which introduces psychological interventions and practical tools used in healthcare and personal development. In Term 3, students deepen their understanding of major health challenges by studying Understanding and Managing Long-Term Chronic Health Conditions, Advanced Research Methods and Approaches 2, and Stress and Health, which examines the psychological and physiological effects of stress on overall wellbeing. In Term 4, students complete a Dissertation, allowing them to apply the knowledge and research skills gained throughout the program to an independent research project in health psychology. Overall, the program prepares graduates with advanced academic knowledge, practical insight, and strong research capabilities to address health-related psychological issues in professional, clinical, or academic environments.
