COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Finance and Investment program includes a diverse range of modules designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of modern financial principles and practices. The module in Corporate Finance introduces students to financial decision-making within corporations, covering areas such as capital structure, investment appraisal, and risk management. Business and Financial Analysis equips students with the tools needed to interpret financial statements, evaluate performance, and understand the financial health of companies.The Derivatives and Alternative Investments module explores financial instruments such as options, futures, and hedge funds, focusing on their use in risk management and portfolio diversification. In Quantitative Finance and Financial Markets, students gain knowledge in statistical and mathematical methods applied to financial problems and an overview of how financial markets function, including the pricing and trading of financial assets.Islamic Banking Operations introduces the principles of Sharia-compliant finance, examining how Islamic banking systems operate and their growing relevance in the global financial landscape. Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity provides insights into the strategic, financial, and operational considerations involved in corporate restructuring and investment in private companies.In addition to subject-specific modules, students take Study Methods and Research Methodology courses to support academic development and prepare for the dissertation. These modules help students to enhance their analytical, critical thinking, and academic writing skills.Students also undertake German Language studies, providing an added cultural and professional benefit, particularly for those planning to work in German-speaking regions.The combination of theoretical knowledge, practical tools, and research skills developed through these modules prepares graduates for careers in banking, investment, corporate finance, and financial consulting. All modules are delivered entirely on campus, with teaching taking place Monday to Saturday in morning, afternoon, or evening sessions.
