COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Emerging Technologies is structured over four terms and is designed to provide students with a deep and practical understanding of rapidly developing fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, chatbots, and the metaverse. The program blends core foundational knowledge with specialised pathway options, enabling students to tailor their studies to suit their career aspirations and areas of interest.In Term 1, students are introduced to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence with modules in Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning Fundamentals, and Ethics and Legal Framework in AI. These core subjects provide a comprehensive grounding in how AI technologies work, their practical applications, and the ethical and legal considerations surrounding their use.Term 2 marks the beginning of pathway specialisation. Students choose one of four focused tracks: Robotics Engineering, Blockchain and Fintech, Chatbot Design, or Metaverse and Digitalisation. Each pathway includes two modules. For Robotics Engineering, students study Advanced Robotics, Automation and Computer Vision, and Robotics Software and Programming. The Blockchain and Fintech pathway includes Blockchain Technology and Advanced Fintech and Regulatory Compliance. In the Chatbot Design track, students learn about Natural Language Processing and Advanced Conversational UI Design and Chatbot Development. The Metaverse and Digitalisation pathway includes Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, as well as Strategies for Digital Transformation and Metaverse Development.Term 3 continues with further specialised learning within each pathway. Students in Robotics Engineering take Advanced Robot Applications and Robotics Project Management. The Blockchain and Fintech pathway covers Blockchain Development and Implementation, and Fintech Innovation, Startups and Risk Management. Chatbot Design students progress to Multi-Modal Chatbots and Chatbot Analytics and Optimisation. Those in the Metaverse and Digitalisation pathway study Metaverse Content Creation and Management, and Metaverse and Security.In Term 4, all students complete a Final Project. This capstone module allows for an in-depth exploration of a chosen topic within their specialisation, demonstrating mastery of the subject and readiness for professional practice or further research.
