COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management program offers a structured, four-term curriculum designed to provide students with both strategic insight and practical skills in these dynamic industries.In Term 1, the program begins with a focus on core business and marketing strategies. Students explore tourism and hospitality business strategy, gaining an understanding of how global and local forces shape the sector. Alongside this, strategic approach in marketing planning for hospitality equips students with the tools to develop targeted, results-driven marketing strategies specific to hospitality businesses.Term 2 deepens operational knowledge. Hospitality operations management covers the essentials of managing hotel and service environments efficiently, while event management introduces the planning, budgeting, and execution of events across diverse scales and purposes. Cross-cultural management is also covered this term, preparing students to navigate and lead within the multicultural and global contexts inherent to tourism and hospitality.In Term 3, the curriculum moves towards broader professional applications. International project management provides essential skills for managing complex, cross-border projects, a common scenario in international tourism and events. Entrepreneurship in tourism and events encourages innovation and strategic thinking, helping students develop the mindset and tools to start their own ventures or lead new initiatives. Business decision making for the hospitality industry, delivered in a blended format, combines online and in-person learning, focusing on analytical tools and real-world decision-making processes.Finally, in Term 4, students undertake a dissertation or final project. This is an opportunity to research a specific area of interest in depth, applying knowledge and methods developed throughout the program to produce a substantial piece of independent academic or practical work.This program is delivered 100 percent on campus. Teaching takes place Monday to Saturday in Berlin and Monday to Friday in Paris, accommodating both morning and afternoon sessions.
