This program begins with a Foundation Year designed for international students to develop key academic and language skills necessary for undergraduate study. Modules include Introduction to Creative Business and Management, English for Academic Purposes, Research and Study Skills, Marketing, Communication and Branding, and a Creative Business Project that encourages practical application of learned concepts. After successful completion, students progress into the BA degree, which focuses on tourism, hospitality, and event management. In the first year, students gain a broad understanding of the industry with core modules such as Introduction to Hospitality in Tourism and Events, Tourism Sociology, Consumer Marketing, and Economics for the Global Service Industry. Academic support continues through Academic Writing & Study Skills and Academic English Communications, complemented by a language elective and Personal & Professional Development. Students choose a pathway: Tourism and Event Management with modules like Principles of Event Management or Hospitality and Food & Beverage with Food & Beverage Service Operations LAB and Introduction to Dining Operations LAB. The second year builds on this foundation by exploring more specialised topics, including Tourism Planning and Experience, Hotel and Restaurant Design, Heritage Tourism, and Human Resources Management in Tourism. Students continue language studies and study Marketing Tourism and E-Commerce and Tourism and Hospitality Law. The Hospitality and Food & Beverage pathway offers Front Office Operations, Housekeeping, and Kitchen Operations LAB, while the Tourism and Events pathway includes Sport Events Tourism and Restaurant Revenue Management. In the final year, students deepen their expertise with modules such as Sustainable Tourism in the Developing World, Strategic Management in Hotel and Hospitality Businesses, and Costing and Budgets of Tourism and Hospitality Industry. They complete a Dissertation to develop independent research skills. The pathways conclude with Tourism and Events students studying Tourism and Urban Change and Event Experience Design, while Hospitality and Food & Beverage students engage in Food and Beverage Workshops and Commodity Purchasing and Food Merchandising. This progression equips students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed for a successful career in the global tourism and hospitality sectors.
