COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Cyber Security program is structured around a comprehensive set of modules designed to develop both strategic understanding and advanced technical expertise in modern cyber security practice. Information Security Management introduces governance, risk management, compliance, and security policies, enabling students to align security strategies with organisational objectives. Network Security focuses on protecting network infrastructures, covering secure architectures, protocols, intrusion detection, and threat mitigation techniques. Secure System Design develops the ability to design and implement resilient systems that are secure by design, addressing vulnerabilities across hardware, software, and integrated systems. Offensive Security equips students with ethical hacking and penetration testing skills, allowing them to identify, exploit, and remediate security weaknesses in a controlled and professional manner. Cloud and Web Services Security explores the protection of cloud-based, web, and mobile platforms, with emphasis on modern deployment models and emerging threats. Digital Forensics and Incident Management develops expertise in investigating cyber incidents, collecting and analysing digital evidence, and managing security breaches effectively. The program culminates in an Advanced Computing Project, where students apply research, analytical, and technical skills to solve a complex real-world cyber security problem, demonstrating professional competence and industry readiness.
