COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Computing degree at Arden University is structured across three levels to provide a solid foundation in computing principles while developing advanced technical and practical skills required by today’s technology sector. At Level 4, students build essential knowledge through core modules including Introduction to Academic Skills and Professional Development, Introduction to Computer Systems and Security, Introduction to Databases, Introduction to Programming, Introduction to Web Authoring, and Productivity and Collaboration Tools for Learning and Work, providing a broad base in both technical and professional competencies. Level 5 focuses on applied computing and analytical skills through core modules such as Human Computer Interaction, Data Analytics and Visualisation, IT Project Management, and Systems Analysis and Design, while students choose between a Technical route with Advanced Databases and Object Oriented Programming or an Information Systems route with Digital Business and Ethics, Quality and Sustainability in Technological Environments, allowing specialisation based on career goals. Level 6 develops strategic and advanced computing expertise through core modules including Data Mining, Distributed and Cloud Computing, Information Security Management, and a Computing Project, alongside a choice of electives—Web Application Development for the Technical route or Technology Entrepreneurship for the Information Systems route. Across all levels, the program emphasises hands-on, practical learning through coding, database management, web development, and cloud computing projects, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for careers in software development, IT management, data analysis, cyber security, and technology leadership roles.
