COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Sustainable and Impact Finance is structured across two semesters and organised into three key blocks that provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between finance, sustainability, and global challenges. The first block focuses on ecological, economic, and financial realities, introducing students to major issues such as climate change, energy transition, biodiversity loss, and the broader context of the Anthropocene. It also explores the anthropology of finance and emerging markets, helping students understand how financial systems interact with social and environmental factors. The second block emphasises the integration of sustainability into financial practices, covering topics such as sustainable governance, reporting standards, and climate-related financial risks. Students also study sustainable fund strategies, green and social bonds from both buy-side and sell-side perspectives, microfinance, and impact investing, gaining practical insights into responsible financial decision-making. The third block encourages innovative thinking about future economic models, including ecological accounting, sustainable monetary systems, and alternative forms of ecological finance. It also addresses financing biodiversity and the impact of technological change on climate challenges. The “Make Your Impact” challenge allows students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. Overall, the program equips students with the skills to align financial practices with sustainability goals.
