COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s program in International Business at University of Vaasa is structured across two academic years and focuses on developing expertise in sustainable global business, digital transformation, and international management. In the first academic year, students complete core studies in global strategies in a digitized world, including sustainability and international business ethics, global digital business, and international strategic management. They also study global marketing and entrepreneurship, covering international business negotiations, sustainable entrepreneurship, and global marketing management. In addition, students develop skills in leading people in global business environments through courses in international human resource management and leadership for global careers. Research and analytical skills are strengthened through business research and analysis modules. The first year also includes language and communication studies, academic writing, and foundational research skills. In the second academic year, students focus on completing their master’s thesis, which is developed in stages from research planning to final submission. Elective studies allow further specialisation in areas such as project management, business model development, service business innovation, and international business networks. Practical learning is supported through internships, mentoring, excursions, and professional skill development courses.
