COURSE CURRICULUM

The Industrial Systems Analytics curriculum is structured to provide a strong foundation in analytical, technical, and managerial skills through complementary, methodological, engineering, major, and optional studies totaling at least 120 ECTS credits. Complementary studies (25–32 ECTS) include academic writing courses, optional Finnish language studies for international students, and prerequisite subjects such as engineering ethics and scientific information retrieval if not previously completed. Method and programming studies (20 ECTS) focus on research methods, with an optional Python course, and a wide selection of electives such as econometrics, financial mathematics, probability, statistics, and advanced data analysis techniques. Engineering studies (20 ECTS) allow students to build technical expertise by choosing from areas like machine learning, robotics, smart energy systems, signal processing, and blockchain applications. Major studies (60 ECTS) form the core of the program, covering modeling and simulation, systems engineering, project management, and Lean Six Sigma statistical control, along with additional courses in analytics, product development, and complex systems. The program concludes with a master’s thesis (30 ECTS), including a research plan, thesis writing, and presentation, supported by a maturity exam. Optional studies (8–15 ECTS) provide flexibility for further specialization through electives, internships, or language courses, ensuring a well-rounded and customizable learning experience.
