COURSE CURRICULUM

The Industrial Management curriculum is structured to provide a balanced mix of complementary, methodological, major, and optional studies totaling 120 ECTS credits. Complementary studies (20–29 ECTS) include academic writing courses and compulsory Finnish language studies for international students, along with introductory or prerequisite courses if not previously completed. Method studies (15 ECTS) focus on research methods, operations research, probability, and statistics, with elective options such as econometrics, decision analysis, and statistical software tools. Major studies (60 ECTS) form the core of the program, covering operations strategy, quality and reliability management, and specialization tracks. Students choose between Supply Chain Management and Operations Management or Technology Management and Innovations, each with compulsory and recommended courses tailored to the field. Additional shared courses include project management, sustainable operations, blockchain applications, and independent project work. The program culminates in a master’s thesis (30 ECTS), including a research plan, thesis writing, and presentation, along with a maturity exam. Optional studies (31–40 ECTS) allow students to customize their learning through electives, internships, and advanced language courses. This structure ensures a comprehensive education combining theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research competence in industrial management.
