COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing program comprises a total of nine subjects, designed to equip students with a combination of practical, strategic, and research skills necessary to lead positive change at both clinical and industry levels. The program includes eight taught subjects and one independent research project, allowing students to explore an academically-oriented area of their interest. Core subjects focus on critical areas in nursing leadership and advanced clinical practice. Students begin by gaining an understanding of clinical governance, safety, and quality care frameworks, including healthcare design, error reporting, risk management, and international standards for quality and safety. Change management is another key area, emphasizing transformational leadership, innovation, and the use of tools such as generative artificial intelligence to implement improvements across complex health systems. Emotional intelligence and leadership theories are integrated to help students manage diverse teams, lead organizational change, and develop evidence-based strategies to foster effective healthcare environments. The program also provides a foundation in research methodology and statistical analysis, covering survey design, reliability and validity assessment, data collection, and analysis using software such as SPSS. Legal, ethical, and professional issues in healthcare are addressed, enabling students to engage in informed clinical decision-making while considering moral, legal, and professional implications. Students further develop systems thinking and quality improvement skills, learning to measure outcomes, apply governance frameworks, and implement changes that improve patient care. Finally, participatory and future-focused teaching practices are incorporated to strengthen engagement, collaboration, and clinical evaluation skills. Collectively, these subjects prepare graduates for advanced leadership roles such as Chief Nurse, Clinical Director, Director of Quality and Patient Safety, Unit Manager, and other senior nursing positions, empowering them to transform healthcare practices and improve patient outcomes across diverse settings.
