COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Media Design requires students to complete a minimum of 60 credit points, including core subjects and research practice. Students from a three-year bachelor’s degree or a four-year program without a research component may need to take additional subjects as advised by faculty. The core subjects focus on integrated media concepts, storytelling, media management, design thinking, and socially engaged media production. Students explore visual narratives, data visualization, and audience engagement, gaining skills in creating media that influences behavior and communicates effectively. The program emphasizes the historical, theoretical, and practical aspects of film, television, and emerging media forms, while examining issues of voice, representation, ethics, and social change. Media management subjects introduce leadership, innovation, and technological shifts shaping the industry, preparing students to navigate and lead in evolving media landscapes. Courses on immersive environments, human-machine interaction, and mediated identities develop understanding of emerging technologies and virtual communication strategies. Students also study design principles, ideation, and production methods, with an emphasis on socially relevant and practical outcomes. By combining critical analysis, creative practice, and hands-on experience, the program equips graduates to produce innovative media artifacts, lead projects, and contribute meaningfully to the future of media and creative industries.
