COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering Management program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both engineering and management principles, combining five core subjects, three elective subjects, and a final project. Students who hold a three-year bachelor’s degree or a four-year degree without a research component may be required to complete an additional two subjects as determined in consultation with the faculty. The core subjects cover a broad range of engineering management areas, beginning with logistics systems, where students learn to design, operate, and optimize supply chains. Quantitative tools, simulation modeling, and case studies are used to develop skills for real-world logistics challenges. Project management is another focus, covering scope, time, human resources, risk, financial management, procurement, contract management, and quality management, equipping students with the expertise to lead engineering projects efficiently. Operations research techniques and basic experimental design are also explored, introducing decision support models, scheduling, queuing theory, regression analysis, and ANOVA to solve engineering management problems. Strategic management is a further core component, where students examine strategic planning principles, competitive positioning, and the impact of technology decisions on organizational performance. Finally, financial management principles are addressed, including time value of money, cost identification and prediction, regulatory economics, and repair-replace decision-making for engineered assets. The three elective subjects allow students to focus on areas aligned with their career aspirations, such as business analytics, innovation, or supply chain management. The final project synthesizes knowledge from all subjects, enabling students to apply theory to practical engineering management challenges. This combination of technical and managerial skills prepares graduates to take on leadership roles in engineering disciplines across chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, software, industrial, environmental, and structural sectors, meeting the growing demand for professionals capable of managing large-scale engineering projects in the region and globally.
