COURSE CURRICULUM

The common engineering subjects in an electrical and computer engineering program are designed to equip students with a strong foundation in problem-solving, mathematical analysis, and practical application of engineering principles. Students begin with algorithm design and computer programming using MATLAB, learning to systematically analyse problems and develop efficient algorithms. Mathematical subjects include calculus, linear algebra, integral calculus, and series, providing analytical tools for engineering analysis, alongside the study of vectors, electromagnetism, electromagnetic waves, and basic communication theory. Core subjects cover C and C++ programming, electronic circuit design with operational amplifiers, digital signal processing, machine tools and mechanical systems, logic design, embedded systems, microcontroller architecture, power systems, data communications, and network fundamentals. Hands-on experience includes laboratory work, fieldwork, and professional placements to develop practical skills and teamwork. Major subjects allow students to specialize in areas such as power electronics, advanced power systems, embedded systems, wireless communications, robotics, and autonomous systems, providing in-depth technical knowledge and practical applications. Capstone and project-based subjects enable students to integrate learning from multiple areas, engage in real-world problem-solving, and develop independent research, design, and implementation skills.
