COURSE CURRICULUM

The core subjects of a Bachelor of Computer Science program are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental programming principles and practical skills in developing software solutions. Students begin by learning object-oriented programming, focusing on problem analysis, design, and the implementation of well-structured programs across various domains. They are introduced to systems analysis, exploring techniques for understanding and specifying the requirements of computer-based information systems while learning to model business processes, data, and objects using Computer Aided Software Engineering tools. Problem-solving strategies and algorithmic thinking are emphasized, enabling students to classify problems, compare strategies, and apply formal and informal methods to develop efficient solutions.Students deepen their programming knowledge by consolidating structured programming skills and mastering object-oriented concepts such as encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, access control, and messaging. Data management is also a major focus, covering data modeling, relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and security practices, alongside ethical considerations for data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Networking fundamentals, including LANs, WANs, Internet protocols, and the OSI and TCP/IP models, equip students to understand and manage modern communication systems. Web technologies are introduced, including HTML, CSS, XML, and client-server programming, with practical exercises in building dynamic websites.The curriculum further includes advanced programming in C++ and Java, exploring procedural, object-oriented, and generic programming, resource management, standard template libraries, and modern coding practices. Students also learn about software development methodologies, project management, human-computer interaction, usability design, and contemporary software engineering practices such as Agile, Scrum, and test-driven development. Together, these core subjects prepare students for the practical and theoretical challenges of computing, providing the knowledge and skills required for careers in programming, data management, network administration, software development, and interactive system design.
