COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBIS) program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between business and information technology. The core subjects develop technical skills in programming, systems analysis, and data management while also building knowledge of business processes and management principles. Students begin by learning fundamental programming concepts, particularly object-oriented approaches, which enable them to design and implement structured solutions for real-world problems. They also gain expertise in systems analysis, learning how to elicit requirements, develop business, data, and process models, and use Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools to create specifications for effective information systems.The curriculum covers essential areas such as data communications, networking, and web technologies, providing students with the knowledge to design and manage computer networks and develop interactive web-based applications. Courses in databases and data security equip students with the skills to manage, process, and secure organizational data while understanding the ethical considerations surrounding privacy and responsible disclosure. Software development methodologies, project management, and human-computer interaction are also integral to the program, allowing students to manage IT projects efficiently and design user-centric systems.In addition, students gain grounding in business functions including finance, management, marketing, and enterprise systems. They learn to analyze financial reports, develop strategies for eBusiness, and understand the role of major information systems in contemporary organizations, such as ERP, CRM, SCM, and HR systems. The capstone and project-based subjects give students the opportunity to integrate their technical and business knowledge by applying it to practical, real-world scenarios, including software and system development projects.Graduates of the BBIS program are equipped to pursue careers as Systems Analysts, Cyber Security Specialists, App Developers, Video Game Developers, and IT Project Managers. They will have the ability to bridge the gap between technology and business, leveraging information systems to improve efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage in diverse organizational settings.
