COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Sport & Event Management at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences is structured to provide students with both a comprehensive understanding of the sports and events industry and specialized knowledge in emerging sectors like eSports and football management. Across the six semesters, students begin by building a foundation in sport and event economics, management basics, mathematics and statistics, and marketing, while also developing essential employability skills such as business English, soft skills, and agile and creative methods. The curriculum progressively introduces advanced topics including sport and event management processes, human resources and organizational behavior, law, quantitative and qualitative methods, financial accounting, controlling, and digital media and communication. In the middle semesters, students focus on applied projects such as applied research, event processes and service management, digital transformation, managing professional sport markets, managing fitness and recreational sport markets, and entrepreneurship and innovation in sport and event sectors. The final semesters emphasize hands-on experience through a semester abroad, internships, and a bachelor thesis with a kolloquium, totaling 200 ECTS. Specialized tracks allow students to pursue electives and focused studies in either the eSports industry, covering areas such as games and analytics, athlete and team coaching, and future industry prospects, or football management, which includes studying leagues, associations, clubs, marketing, and case studies. Throughout the program, students engage in real-world learning that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing them to manage professional sports organizations, orchestrate large-scale events, and respond strategically to industry trends. Graduates are equipped with the managerial, analytical, and innovative skills necessary to excel in traditional sports, emerging sports sectors, and the dynamic event management industry. This holistic and versatile curriculum ensures students are ready to take on leadership roles, drive innovation, and make meaningful contributions to the global sports and events landscape.
