ABOUT UNIVERSITY

International American University (IAU) is a private for-profit university headquartered in Palmdale and Los Angeles, California, originally established in 2005 under the name Management Institute of America, Inc. The institution began academic operations in Los Angeles, later receiving state approval to officially change its name to International American University in July 2006, with the change finalized in September 2006. IAU held its first international commencement ceremony just eight months later on April 1, 2007, in Malaysia, graduating 85 students. In January 2008, the university relocated its administrative operations from Los Angeles to Palmdale and created CAS Academy under its School of Business and Technology. In March 2009, it received approval from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to enroll international F-1 visa students, marking a major milestone in its global enrollment capacity. IAU is approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and offers a full academic portfolio including certificate, associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. It is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) and continues to expand international academic pathways. The university has also entered into a notable collaboration with Harvard Business School Online, enabling its students to complete selected Harvard courses and receive academic credit through IAU. With continued institutional growth, regulatory recognition, and international partnerships, IAU maintains a vision of accessible business and professional education with an emphasis on global student mobility.
