COURSE CURRICULUM

The module structure of this program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of international business operations, strategic decision making and organisational behaviour in a global context. Block 1 introduces International Business Strategy, where students examine why firms expand into international markets and how strategic choices influence success or failure. Through frameworks such as monopolistic advantage theory, internalisation theory and OLI, students explore location decisions, market entry modes and competitive strategy while integrating theoretical perspectives with real-world scenarios such as joint ventures. Block 2 allows students to choose between Innovation and Technology Management or Operations and Supply Chain Management. These modules focus on understanding technological change, innovation processes, global supply networks and decision making in highly competitive environments, preparing students to manage organisational challenges in fast-paced markets. Block 3 develops critical thinking through Critical Management and Organisation Studies, highlighting the historical roots of management theory and encouraging debate on socio-environmental impact, organisational identity, intersectionality and contemporary business dilemmas. Block 4 offers an additional elective between Leadership and Change Management and Corporate Sustainability and Business Ethics. Students either deepen their knowledge of leadership practices, organisational transformation and change resistance, or examine ethical expectations placed on global firms and their responsibilities towards society and the environment. Finally, Blocks 5 and 6 provide elective project options, allowing students to complete a dissertation, undertake a consulting project or engage in a Business Project Simulator. Each pathway develops advanced skills in research, strategic evaluation and professional application. Whether investigating an area of personal interest, working directly with an organisation on a live business challenge or navigating a simulated corporate environment, students demonstrate their analytical capability, practical judgement and independent decision making. Together, these modules prepare graduates to operate effectively in international markets with strategic insight, leadership ability and global awareness.
