COURSE CURRICULUM

The Law program is structured to provide students with a progressive and comprehensive understanding of legal principles, combining theoretical foundations with practical skills and professional development. In the first year, students focus on core legal knowledge through modules such as English and European Legal Systems, Criminal Law, Contract Law, and Constitutional and Administrative Law. These modules introduce essential concepts and frameworks, while varied teaching and assessment methods help students develop critical analysis, problem-solving, and effective communication skills necessary for legal study and practice. In the second year, students build on this foundation with more specialised and applied learning. Modules such as Law of Tort and Land Law provide in-depth exploration of specific legal areas, while Inter-Professional Legal Skills equips students with functional, practical awareness, preparing them to work effectively in multidisciplinary legal environments. Additionally, students begin to focus on their chosen specialism pathway, undertaking modules aligned with areas such as Business Law, Criminal Justice, Human Rights and Social Justice, Sociolegal Studies, or International Law. The third year continues the development of expertise and professional readiness. Equity and Trusts deepens students’ understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and property-related legal principles, while pathway-specific modules allow learners to further specialise in their selected legal focus. The program culminates with a Legal Project or Professional Preparation Practice module, giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to practical scenarios, conduct research, and develop skills relevant to professional practice. Throughout the three years, experiential learning, participation, and engagement with legal professionals are central to the curriculum. By integrating foundational legal knowledge, pathway specialisation, practical application, and professional skills development, the program ensures that graduates are well-prepared for further legal study, professional qualification, or entry into diverse roles within the legal sector, equipped with analytical rigour, ethical awareness, and the ability to navigate complex legal environments confidently.
