COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cyber Security program is designed to equip students with the technical expertise and analytical skills required to protect digital infrastructures in an increasingly interconnected world. The curriculum begins in Year 1 with core foundations, enabling students to build a strong understanding of cyber security principles. Modules such as Foundation of Computing and Cyber Security introduce students to essential security concepts and digital threat awareness, while Endpoint Security focuses on safeguarding devices and access points across networks. Study of Secure Coding enhances skills in writing resilient, vulnerability-free code, and Business Infrastructure and Security explores the design and protection of organisational systems. In Year 2, the program advances to specialised practical and investigative learning. Secure Scripting and Business Applications integrate secure programming techniques with enterprise systems, followed by Incident Response and Cyber Threat Intelligence, which trains students to examine, detect, and respond to cyber attacks. Penetration Testing provides hands-on experience in ethical hacking and vulnerability assessment, while students can choose between Expert Briefings in Cyber Security or Industrial Cryptography, both offering deeper insight into either contemporary security issues or advanced encryption technologies. The final year provides a comprehensive view of attack methodologies and protection strategies. Malware and Attacker Techniques examines intrusion tactics and malicious software behaviour, and Cyber Physical Systems Security addresses security challenges associated with smart devices, industrial controls, and Internet of Things environments. The program concludes with a Final Project, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and investigative practices to a specialised area of cyber security. This structured approach ensures graduates gain both the foundational knowledge and advanced technical capabilities required to excel in roles such as cyber analyst, security consultant, forensic investigator, and incident response specialist, contributing effectively to the global demand for skilled cyber security professionals.
