The Bachelor of Commerce with a specialisation in Finance provides students with a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, investment evaluation, and corporate finance, preparing them for careers in investment analysis, corporate finance, financial planning, and related fields. The program combines core business knowledge with specialised finance units, offering a balance of theoretical understanding and practical application. Core units include Communication, Culture and Indigenous Perspectives in Business, Strategic Career Design, Markets and Legal Frameworks, Financial Decision Making, Analytics for Decision Making, Business Internship, Introduction to Finance Principles, and Introduction to Financial Instruments and Markets, ensuring students gain essential business and analytical skills. Specialised finance units cover Business Analysis for Investment, Corporate Finance, Quantitative Techniques for Business, Portfolio Management, International Finance, and Introduction to Derivative Securities, equipping students with technical expertise in investment evaluation, risk management, and financial decision-making. Students can also select 10 electives, providing flexibility to tailor their studies to specific interests or career goals. The Finance specialisation is aligned with the CFA Institute University Recognition Program, covering at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), giving students a strong foundation to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
