COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport Management degree program spans eight semesters and is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in both general business education and specialized sport management knowledge. In the first year, students are introduced to essential academic and professional skills through courses such as Computer Fundamentals, English Composition, Introduction to Management, Philosophy, Sociology, Technical Writing and Research, European and Cypriot History, Intermediate Algebra, and Accounting I. The second year builds on this foundation with further business and social science courses including Accounting II, Organizational Behavior, Business Communication, Society and Environment, and General Psychology I and II. In the third and fourth semesters, students explore more specialized business topics such as Business Law, Marketing, Statistics, and delve into the history of sports and society. The fifth and sixth semesters mark a transition into core sport management topics, including Sports Development Management, Sports Promotion, Sports Law, Strategic Planning for Sport Organizations, and International Sports Management, while also incorporating Research Methods, Business Simulation, and Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics. The seventh semester focuses on leadership and management within the sports context with courses like Human Resource Management, Human Performance Management, Sports Facilities Management, Technology in Sports, and Analysis of the Sports Industry. In the final semester, students complete their academic journey with advanced topics such as Strategy and Business Policy, Ethics in Sports, and Case Studies in Sports Management, culminating in a Final Year Project. The curriculum is structured to progressively develop the student’s theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and analytical ability, preparing them for a career in the sport industry across diverse roles in management, promotion, planning, and policy-making, within both local and international contexts. The integration of business fundamentals with sport-specific applications ensures graduates are well-equipped for dynamic roles in sport organizations, events, and athlete management.
