COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Media and Animation offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines creative design, animation, digital technologies, and interactive media skills across eight semesters. The program begins with foundational courses in drawing, art history, typography, 2D design, photography, and introductory interactive media, helping students build strong artistic and technical abilities. As students progress, they study animation, storyboarding, creative coding, motion graphics, digital imagemaking, video production, web development, and sound design for moving images. The curriculum also focuses on advanced areas such as user interface and user experience design, 3D modelling and animation, game development, virtual reality, visual effects, stop motion animation, immersive storytelling, and generative artificial intelligence. Students are encouraged to develop both creative and analytical skills while engaging with emerging technologies and industry trends in multimedia and digital arts. Practical experience is supported through multimedia work placement opportunities, collaborative projects, and final year research and dissertation projects. The program also strengthens communication, project management, illustration, information design, advertising, and critical thinking skills through interdisciplinary learning. Overall, the curriculum prepares graduates with the technical expertise, creative vision, and professional abilities required for careers in animation, gaming, multimedia production, digital design, interactive media, virtual reality, and other rapidly evolving creative industries.
