COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Media Production program is structured over four years to develop technical expertise, creative practice, and professional skills across media platforms. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge through Introduction to Audio-Visual Technologies, Introduction to Media Literacy, Introduction to Mathematics and Statistics, and Academic Writing, with optional modules such as Managing People Enterprise Skills, Advertising and Marketing Communications, and English for Academic Purposes supporting broader competencies. Year 2 focuses on core production skills, including Film, Television and Media Culture, Television Studio Production, Computer Graphics, Audio Production, Video Production, and Multimedia Production, providing hands-on experience across different media formats. In Year 3, students advance to program Design and Production, TV Production and Technology, Professional Practice, and Thinking Through Film, Media and TV, while optional modules such as Sound Design and Production, Video Post-Production, Producing and Directing for TV, and Graphic Communication allow for specialisation. The final year centres on independent research through a Dissertation, alongside optional modules including Enterprise Development and Production, Portfolio Projects, Advanced TV Production and Technology, Studio Engineering, and User Experience Design. Throughout the program, students progressively refine their creative, technical, and analytical skills to prepare for diverse careers in media and television production.
