COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics program at UCLan Cyprus is structured over four years to provide a strong theoretical and applied foundation in mathematical sciences. In Year 1, students develop core knowledge in discrete mathematics, algebra, probability and statistics, and calculus, with optional modules that enhance academic and research skills. Year 2 deepens understanding through algebra and linear algebra, computational mathematics, real analysis, probability theory, and statistical theory, with options in mechanics and applied mathematics. In Year 3, students advance to more specialised topics such as numerical methods, ordinary differential equations, stochastic processes, further analysis, and linear and generalised linear models, while optional modules include cryptology, vector calculus, and placement opportunities. The final year focuses on advanced subjects including complex analysis, time series, computational statistics and data analysis, and metric and topological spaces. Students can further specialise through options such as partial differential equations, actuarial mathematics and statistics, econometrics, advanced topics, or a mathematics project. Overall, the program combines rigorous theoretical training with practical and computational skills, preparing graduates for careers in data analysis, finance, research, education, and other quantitative professions.
