COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Computing program at UCLan Cyprus is structured over four years to develop strong technical knowledge and practical expertise. In Year 1, students build foundational skills in programming, networking, discrete mathematics, and general computing concepts, with optional support in academic writing and research skills. Year 2 strengthens core competencies through modules such as systems analysis and database design, algorithms and data structures, web technologies, computer systems and security, games concepts, and practical computing challenges. In Year 3, students advance their programming abilities and professional skills through advanced programming and agile methodologies, while choosing from a wide range of optional subjects including cybersecurity, database systems, network routing and management, digital forensics, software development, computer graphics, mobile computing, and games development. The final year centers on a substantial double project, allowing students to apply their knowledge to a real-world problem or innovative idea. Additional optional modules include artificial intelligence, cloud computing, penetration testing, wireless and mobile networks, advanced software modeling, distributed enterprise systems, and advanced games development. Overall, the program combines theoretical foundations with hands-on learning to prepare graduates for diverse and dynamic careers in the computing industry.
