COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Hons) Computer Engineering program at UCLan Cyprus is structured over four years to build strong theoretical foundations and advanced technical expertise. In Year 1, students develop core skills in programming, discrete mathematics, calculus and linear algebra, computer systems and security, electrical engineering fundamentals, and academic research skills. Year 2 expands technical knowledge with modules in networking, probability theory, algorithms and data structures, computational mathematics, digital electronics, and electronics and instrumentation, alongside optional subjects such as database design, applied physics, and electronic engineering practice. In Year 3, students study computer architectures, digital systems, and operating systems as core modules, while choosing from a wide range of options including robotics, network routing, advanced programming, database systems, computer security, data communications, and human-computer interaction. The final year emphasizes professional development and practical application through engineering professionalism, microcontroller systems, and a major individual project. Students can further specialize in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, embedded real-time systems, robotics and autonomous systems, computer vision, distributed systems, and VLSI design. Overall, the program integrates engineering principles, computing technologies, and hands-on experience to prepare graduates for diverse careers in technology and innovation.
