COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Hospitality and Tourism Management program at UCLan Cyprus is structured over four years to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for the visitor economy. In Year 1, students build foundational skills through academic writing and introductory modules in hospitality and tourism operations and service excellence, with a range of optional subjects including ethics, mathematics, languages, enterprise skills, and business context. Year 2 focuses on core operational and managerial areas such as food and beverage operations, tourism destinations, research and technology foundations, tourism in action, and event management. In Year 3, students develop advanced expertise in marketing and ICT for the visitor economy, employability and talent management, applied research and service quality, tourism development and sustainability, and cultural and heritage events, with options such as sport tourism and tourist behaviour. The final year emphasizes strategic and international perspectives through modules in strategic management, international hospitality and tourism cases, and management development, alongside options including quality management, creativity, business management, and a research project or dissertation. Overall, the program integrates theory with practical application to prepare graduates for leadership roles in hospitality, tourism, and events management.
