COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Fashion Design program is structured over four years to progressively develop creative, technical, and professional skills. In Year 1, students build essential foundations through modules such as Academic Writing, Drawing and Illustration, Introduction to Visual Media Technologies, Aesthetics and Visual Composition, and Fundamental Principles of Fashion, establishing core design knowledge and visual communication abilities. Year 2 deepens creative exploration and contextual understanding with Critical Studies in Fashion and Textiles 1, alongside Fashion Design I and II, and Fashion Communication and Presentation Methods, enabling students to refine their design process and presentation techniques. In Year 3, the focus shifts toward professional readiness and advanced practice through Preparation for Industry, Fashion Design III, Critical Studies in Fashion and Textiles 2, and Outerwear Design and Creation, encouraging technical development and industry awareness. The final year consolidates learning with Critical Studies in Fashion and Textiles 3, Experimental Silhouette Investigation, Fashion Collection, and Fashion Design IV. During this stage, students produce a cohesive and innovative final collection that reflects their personal design identity and research interests. Throughout the program, theoretical study and practical application are integrated to prepare graduates with strong portfolios, critical thinking skills, and professional competence for careers in the fashion industry.
