COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB programme at Neapolis University Pafos follows a single, comprehensive legal studies curriculum designed to meet both Cypriot and European standards of legal education. Introduced from the 2015/2016 academic year onwards, the programme consists of 26 compulsory courses, one compulsory elective course, and 16 elective courses, requiring students to complete a total of 240 ECTS credits to graduate. The compulsory courses account for 155 credits, with most courses carrying 6 ECTS credits, while five courses are worth 5 credits. The practical courses in Public Law and Private Law are particularly distinctive, carrying 6 credits plus an additional 2 credits earned through participation in practical activities such as court observations, mock trial competitions, seminars, and other experiential learning opportunities. The compulsory elective course contributes 5 credits, while the 16 elective modules provide an additional 80 credits, allowing students to explore specialised areas of law according to their interests and career goals. Each course is delivered over a 13-week semester and includes a total of 39 teaching hours, ensuring intensive and structured legal training. To facilitate professional recognition in Greece, the programme offers students the option to study 18 of the 26 compulsory courses through alternative curricula based on Greek law, while maintaining the programme's primary focus on Cypriot law and the Anglo-Saxon legal tradition. The curriculum combines rigorous academic study with practical legal experience, enabling students to develop essential skills in legal reasoning, research, advocacy, problem-solving, and professional ethics. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical exposure to legal proceedings and professional activities, the programme prepares graduates for careers as lawyers, legal advisors, public servants, corporate legal consultants, and judicial professionals, while also providing a strong foundation for postgraduate legal studies and professional qualification within Cyprus, Greece, and the broader European Union.
