COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc in Civil Engineering at Neapolis University Pafos is a four-year, 240-ECTS programme that combines strong theoretical foundations with practical engineering training to prepare students for professional careers in the design, construction, and management of infrastructure projects. The curriculum begins with fundamental subjects such as linear algebra, programming, engineering physics, architectural and technical drawing, calculus, ecology, computer-aided design, and land surveying, providing students with essential scientific and technical knowledge. As the programme progresses, students study advanced civil engineering topics including fluid mechanics, strength of materials, structural analysis, engineering geology, engineering materials, soil mechanics, reinforced concrete design, structural dynamics, hydraulics, foundation engineering, transportation planning, steel design, earthquake engineering, hydrology, and environmental engineering. The programme also develops professional competencies through modules in construction project management, construction law, and professional engineering practice. Students have the opportunity to specialise through elective pathways in Structural Engineering and Environmental Engineering, studying advanced subjects such as reinforced concrete design, finite element methods, coastal and offshore engineering, environmental sustainability, environmental impact assessment, water resources management, and water supply networks. During the final year, students complete a substantial dissertation and may undertake a professional placement to gain practical industry experience and enhance employability. Throughout the programme, emphasis is placed on analytical thinking, engineering design, sustainability, problem-solving, and the consideration of economic, environmental, ethical, health, and safety factors in engineering projects.
