COURSE CURRICULUM
The Hospitality and Tourism Management program spans eight semesters and is structured to provide students with a comprehensive education that combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the global hospitality and tourism sectors. Each semester consists of five compulsory courses, with each course held for three periods a week over 13 weeks, totaling 39 sessions per course and awarding 6 ECTS credits. In Semester A, students are introduced to the hospitality and tourism industry, microeconomics, English writing, accounting, and German language. Semester B builds foundational knowledge in computer applications, Greek language, tourism geography, Cypriot history, and intermediate German. Semester C continues with courses in management, advanced accounting, Greek language, advanced English, and marketing. Semester D shifts towards operational learning with front office and housekeeping management, restaurant operations, psychology, and organizational behavior. Semester E explores food and beverage management, business-society relations, macroeconomics, organizational creativity, and management information systems. Semester F includes human resource management, statistics, international tourism case studies, cost control in food and beverage, and European integration. Semester G focuses on specialized topics such as heritage and sustainable tourism, marketing in hospitality, innovation in tourism management, and event planning. Finally, Semester H concludes the program with courses in service quality management, European tourism law, operations management, research methodology, and international business. The curriculum is designed not only to offer deep insights into hospitality and tourism but also to develop students' abilities in leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication. Graduates are expected to be well-prepared for management or supervisory roles in various hospitality and tourism settings, equipped with both industry-specific expertise and general business acumen to navigate complex global markets and adapt to changing consumer expectations.
