COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma in Domestic Personal Assistant is a comprehensive two-year programme designed to develop the practical, organisational, and interpersonal skills required for professional domestic and personal support roles. The curriculum begins by introducing students to the fundamental skills of caregiving, English communication and writing, food and beverage service operations, and the study of sociology and culture, providing a strong foundation in communication, caregiving, and social awareness. Students also have the opportunity to study a foreign language, including French, German, Modern Greek, or Russian, enhancing their ability to work in multicultural environments. During the second semester, students gain practical experience in basic cookery, advanced caregiving techniques, health and safety, first aid, shopping and household resource operations, and child growth, development, and behaviour. An industrial training component provides valuable hands-on experience and prepares students for real-world work environments. The third semester focuses on general business skills, advanced cookery, the preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and family psychology, enabling students to understand household management and interpersonal relationships more effectively. In the final semester, students develop additional competencies through modules in social etiquette and professional conduct, fundamentals of gardening, nutrition and dietary patterns, event planning, and self-development theories and practice. Throughout the programme, students build expertise in maintaining safe, comfortable, and well-organised living environments while developing strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum also promotes professionalism, cultural awareness, and adaptability, preparing graduates to work confidently in residential homes, private households, care facilities, hospitality environments, and support service settings. By combining theoretical learning with practical training and language development, the programme equips graduates with the skills necessary to provide high-quality domestic and personal assistance, manage household responsibilities efficiently, and respond effectively to the diverse needs of individuals and families in a wide range of professional settings.
