The Master of Engineering in Energy Systems Engineering – Power Systems Technical Stream requires students to complete 30 credit hours, consisting of five core courses, three electives, and a six-credit-hour project carried out over the final two semesters. The core courses—Energy Economics and Policy (ENGI 9853), Fundamentals of Energy Systems (ENGI 9854), Energy and the Environment (ENGI 9855), Instrumentation and Control of Energy Systems (ENGI 9857), and Advanced Power Systems (ENGI 9858)—provide students with an in-depth understanding of the technical, economic, and environmental aspects of power generation and distribution. The program also includes a major project (ENGI 990A/B), where students apply their learning to design and analyze sustainable energy systems. Through elective courses such as Engineering Analysis (ENGI 9420), Thermal Power Plants (ENGI 9841), Solar Engineering (ENGI 9843), Energy Storage (ENGI 9845), Renewable Energy Systems (ENGI 9896), Power System Protection (ENGI 9862), and Grid Integration of Energy Systems (ENGI 9863), students gain the flexibility to specialize in areas aligned with current energy industry demands.
