The Bridge to Canadian Nursing program requires the completion of 27 credits designed to prepare nurses for competent, safe, and ethical practice in Canadian healthcare settings. Core courses include NURS 380, Foundations in Canadian Nursing, which introduces students to Canadian nursing standards, regulations, and workforce trends, providing a foundation for practice. NURS 381, Nursing to Support Wellness and Health, focuses on promoting holistic health, integrating wellness principles into nursing care, and applying critical thinking in patient-centered approaches. NURS 382, Applied Professional Nursing Practice, develops practical skills for clinical decision-making, relational practice, and interprofessional collaboration in diverse healthcare contexts. NURS 383, Nursing Knowledge Consolidation, reinforces nursing knowledge while advancing clinical judgment, communication, and leadership competencies. NURS 384, Clinical Nursing Practice Integration, emphasizes hands-on application of skills in real-world settings, consolidating students’ readiness for practice in Canadian healthcare environments. Additionally, students complete two elective courses from NURS 304 (Home Care Nursing), NURS 305 (Mental Health Disorders), NURS 306 (Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family), or NURS 311 (Gerontology), allowing them to focus on specialized areas of practice. University-level English is also required to enhance professional communication skills. Collectively, these courses ensure learners develop the clinical expertise, critical thinking, and professional knowledge necessary to meet entry-level competencies for Canadian Registered Nurse (RN) practice while supporting a seamless transition into the healthcare workforce.
