Course Curriculum

The MBA in General Management at Laurentian University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of key business functions while offering flexibility through its online and on-campus formats. The program consists of 45 credits, divided into foundations, core, capstone, and experiential learning courses. Advanced standing is available for CPA candidates or those enrolled in the Professional Experience Program (PEP), with up to 15 credits awarded for relevant experience. The foundations courses (21 credits) cover essential topics such as accounting, finance, organizational behavior, marketing, business statistics, and operations management. Core courses (6 credits) focus on corporate finance and ethical leadership, while the capstone course (3 credits) in strategic management allows students to integrate and apply their knowledge. For those with less than two years of intermediate work experience, the Work Integrated Learning course (3 credits) is required to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Students also have the option to specialize in Analytics and Operations or Global Management, where they replace elective courses with tailored courses like project management, business analytics, global management, and consulting projects. This flexibility enables students to gain expertise in specific business areas while still acquiring a broad managerial skill set. With a total of 30 to 33 credits required for completion, the program provides a well-rounded foundation for leadership roles in business, preparing graduates for success in a dynamic and globalized economy.
