Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Science in Geomatics program at BCIT comprises a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced technical knowledge and professional skills across multiple levels. In Level 5, students study core courses such as Business Law (BLAW 3100), Geospatial Data Management (GEOM 5111), Land Use Planning (GEOM 5115), Introduction to Least Squares (GEOM 5140), and RPAS Applications (GEOM 5185), alongside a General Education elective, totaling a minimum of 18 credits. Level 6 expands technical expertise with Economic Issues (ECON 1150), GIS Applications (GEOM 6106), Physical Geodesy (GEOM 6121), Advanced Adjustments (GEOM 6125), Geomatics Project Planning (GEOM 6130), Advanced Photogrammetry (GEOM 6165), and Critical Reading and Writing (LIBS 7001), amounting to 21 credits. Level 7 focuses on specialized topics including Cadastral Studies and Land Registration Systems (GEOM 5155), GeoCloud Analytics and Automation (GEOM 7111), Satellite Geodesy (GEOM 7121), Geomatics Project 1 (GEOM 7130), and Advanced Topics in Precision Survey (GEOM 7150), totaling 18 credits. The final Level 8 combines Management Skills and Applications (BUSA 7250), Survey Law (GEOM 6175), Geomatics Project 2 (GEOM 8130), Hydrographic Surveying (GEOM 8195), and Applied Ethics (LIBS 7002), along with a Liberal Studies elective, completing 19 credits. Altogether, the program requires 77 credits to graduate.
