Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) is a four-year undergraduate degree that prepares you for professional practice as a physiotherapist. The program equips you with the knowledge and clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat movement disorders resulting from a wide range of joint, muscle and nerve conditions. You will also learn how to help individuals prevent injuries, support recovery and maintain overall physical health and fitness.Throughout the course, you will study a comprehensive curriculum that includes core and elective units in physiotherapy, exercise and sport science, behavioural and community health sciences and biomedical sciences. These subjects provide a strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. The program integrates theory with hands-on learning to ensure you are confident and competent in clinical decision-making and patient care.A defining feature of the program is its focus on practical learning. You will complete five clinical placements that total 1,040 hours of supervised experience. These placements are embedded throughout the course and occur in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private practices and community health services. At least one placement will take place in a rural or regional (non-metropolitan) area, giving you valuable experience in diverse environments and client populations.This course is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as physiotherapists with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
