Course Curriculum

In Stage A of the Human Resource Management program, students complete four core courses, totaling 48 credit points, designed to build a strong foundation in HR theory, practice, and legal frameworks. Key Concepts in Human Resource Management (BUSM4499, 12 credit points) introduces students to essential HR principles, including recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement. Professional Human Resource Management Practices (BUSM4504, 12 credit points) focuses on the application of HR strategies in organisational settings, covering workforce planning, talent development, and HR operations. People and Organisations (BUSM3249, 12 credit points) examines the dynamics between individuals and groups within workplaces, exploring organisational behaviour, motivation, and leadership. Employment Law (BUSM4506, 12 credit points) provides students with knowledge of the legal frameworks governing employment relationships, including workplace rights, obligations, and compliance requirements. Together, these courses equip students with the practical skills, theoretical understanding, and professional insight needed to effectively manage people and organisational processes, preparing them for advanced study or careers in human resource management.
