COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure is designed to provide students with a balanced combination of technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional development across three years of study. In the second year, students begin with specialised learning in application development for the Apple ecosystem, gaining practical experience in designing and developing applications for Apple platforms. They also complete an alternate core subject in areas such as software engineering testing or fundamental concepts of data security, strengthening their understanding of software quality, reliability, and cybersecurity principles. In the second semester, students develop essential skills in requirements engineering and database systems, learning how to analyse user needs, manage software requirements, and design effective data solutions. The third year focuses on advanced concepts and industry preparation. Students study human-computer interaction to understand user-centred design principles and choose an additional subject such as algorithm design and analysis or STEM professional practice to enhance technical and professional capabilities. In the final semester, students undertake a computer project, applying their knowledge to solve real-world computing problems while also completing professional practice or engineering management studies. Overall, the course structure integrates programming, software development, project management, and industry-focused skills to prepare graduates for careers in application development and software engineering.
