COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Innovation double degree combines engineering expertise with innovation, business and management skills to prepare students for future-focused careers. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge through financial decision-making, career design, legal frameworks and the Bachelor of Engineering Pre-Major, which establishes essential engineering principles. Students then select an engineering major from disciplines such as Civil and Construction Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mining Engineering or Software Systems Engineering. In the following years, students build innovation capabilities through design principles, design computing, business programming, project management and innovation fundamentals. Advanced units focus on responsible innovation and leadership, management of innovation, entrepreneurship, international management and sustainable business innovation projects. Students also gain practical experience through options such as business clinics, internships, study tours and international business projects. The final stage of the degree includes the Business Innovation Lab, where students apply their technical and entrepreneurial knowledge to develop solutions for real-world challenges. By integrating engineering, technology, business and innovation studies, this program equips graduates with the skills to lead projects, create new ventures and drive positive change across diverse industries.
