COURSE CURRICULUM

The Civil and Construction Engineering program is structured over four years to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in designing, constructing, and managing infrastructure projects. After completing foundational engineering studies in the first year, students progress to specialized subjects in the second year, including Civil Engineering Construction Materials, Civil Engineering Drawing and Surveying, Fluid Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Structural Mechanics, Principles of Geomechanics, and Water and Environmental Resources. These courses establish a solid understanding of construction materials, structural behavior, surveying techniques, and environmental systems. In the third year, students develop advanced technical expertise through subjects such as Geotechnical Engineering Analysis, Structural Actions and Steel Design, Transportation Engineering and Earthworks, Civil Engineering Project and Cost Management, Hydraulics and Hydrology, and Reinforced Concrete Design. These units strengthen analytical, design, and project management capabilities while addressing practical engineering challenges. During the final year, the curriculum emphasizes professional engineering practice through Civil Engineering Practices, Quality and Legislation, Integrated Structural Design, Design of Foundations, and Integrated Design and Construction. Students also complete two Civil and Construction Engineering Research Projects, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering problems. Overall, the program equips graduates with the technical, analytical, and professional skills required to design, construct, and manage safe, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure projects.
