COURSE CURRICULUM

The Chemical and Process Engineering program is structured over four years, progressively building students’ knowledge and practical engineering skills through a combination of core subjects, laboratory work, design projects, and research. The curriculum begins with foundational engineering and science concepts before advancing to specialized chemical engineering topics. In the second year, students study Fluid Mechanics, Principles and Processes in Chemistry, Process Heat Transfer, and Mass and Energy Balances, which provide the essential scientific and engineering principles required for process analysis and design. As the program progresses, students develop expertise in process modeling, transport phenomena, instrumentation, and process control, enabling them to analyze and optimize industrial systems. During the third and fourth years, the focus shifts toward professional engineering practice through subjects such as Engineering Economics, Management and Sustainability, Computational Transport Phenomena, Advanced Unit Operations, and Process Safety and Risk Management. Students also undertake Engineering Industry Research Projects that strengthen their research, problem-solving, and communication skills while providing exposure to real-world engineering challenges. The program concludes with a comprehensive Chemical Engineering Design Project, where students integrate technical knowledge, economic analysis, sustainability considerations, and safety principles to design practical industrial processes. Overall, the course prepares graduates with the technical expertise, analytical ability, and professional skills required for successful careers in the chemical and process engineering industry.
