Bachelor of Digital Creative Industries in Immersive User Experience Design

COURSE CURRICULUM

The Immersive User Experience Design major is structured to develop students’ creative, technical and strategic skills in designing interactive and engaging digital experiences. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through Digital User Experience Design, where they explore user-centred design principles, research methods and approaches to creating meaningful digital interactions. User Interface and Experience Design develops skills in designing effective interfaces, improving usability and understanding how users engage with digital products and services. In the second year, students expand their expertise through Interactive Platforms, exploring technologies and systems used to create interactive experiences, while Social Interactive Experiences focuses on designing digital environments that encourage communication, participation and community engagement. Playful Interactive Experiences introduces creative approaches to interaction design through play, experimentation and user engagement, while Social Media, Communities and Networks examines online behaviours, digital communities and networked experiences. In the third year, students explore advanced applications through Virtual Production, gaining insight into emerging digital production techniques and immersive technologies. Immersive Experiences allows students to apply their knowledge to create innovative interactive environments that combine creativity, technology and user experience principles. Through practical projects and industry-focused learning, graduates develop the skills needed for careers in UX design, immersive media, interactive experiences, digital product development and creative technology industries.
